:Personality:
Kimi is a rather sincere person, stating her feelings outright even if she cannot divulge her secrets. She also flirts with people that she finds to be attractive and interesting and cannot stand people who don’t care about the feelings of others or how their actions can affect others. However, she doesn’t always act on her feelings because her duty can complicate matters and make her indecisive in the process. Not only is she good at giving advice but she is good at finding qualities to appreciate not only in other people but also in works of art. Although she is sociable as she is part of the girls’ basketball team and is the vice-captain, part of the school band, and usually always with her elder twin, she also has moments where she prefers to be by herself. She can be stern when it comes to confronting others about their actions or doing what is right.
She is a good source of advice and can find qualities to appreciate in works of art as well as most people but has trouble with being indecisive in matters when her duty interferes with them at times.
Her original dream was to be a cellist but it never came into fruition since she had to become the CEO of her father’s company, so she settled for being part of her school band as a cellist. She dreams of traveling the world alongside someone she loves. (As a Sailor Guardian, she almost thought she had to give up the dream of loving someone but with Michiru’s blessing, she acts on the feelings she held for a human in her past life.)

Kimi is a nimble point guard with good court vision and ball-handling skills. Her best skills are her accurate passes whether they be no-look passes or visual and her defense. She can dunk, make three-pointers, do lay-ups, and steal the ball with significant force. She also designates offensive plays.
Kimi speaks Japanese, English, French, and Korean.
:Committees:
She is the vice-captain of Shūtoku High's girls' basketball team and part of the school band as a cellist.
:Background:
Her father, Yamato Kaiou, was the CEO of the Kaiou maritime trading company. He only had two daughters. She was two years older than Michiru. They all took swimming, violin, and cello lessons. They all loved swimming but while Michiru preferred the violin, she preferred the cello. It wasn’t until 4th grade that her childhood friend, Donghae Choi, told Kimi to watch his basketball game to try to impress her romantically that he got into basketball. Kimi didn’t have feelings for the boy at the time, but she acknowledged his feelings and asked him how to play basketball and he taught her. Donghae unfortunately had to move to Seoul, Korea, in his first year of high school but she still enjoyed playing basketball. She was a point guard at S.S. Private Girl’s Academy and her jersey number was #10. After she dreamed of their past lives, they awakened as Sailor Halimede at the age of 14. After Michiru transferred to Mugen Academy, Kimi thought of transferring to another school suited for basketball but hesitated until she received encouragement from her sister then decided to transfer to Shūtoku High which was well known as one of the Three Kings of Tokyo for being exceptionally strong in the high school basketball league as their father told her to continue pursuing basketball while she could because she couldn’t when she inherited his company. During a practice game with Kaijō High, Umiko Kaisei recruited her to become a member of the Kasamatsu Secret Fan Club. She recognized Yukio Kasamatsu’s previous incarnation from Princess Serenity and Princess Tranquility’s 14th birthday ball as Kostas, the captain of Queen Serenity’s guards, thought he was handsome, and was impressed by his skills as a point guard. Her jersey number at Shūtoku High is #9 and she is now the vice-captain.
Relationships
:Family:
Yamato and Saemi Kaiou — parents, Michiru Kaiou (younger sister), Donghae Choi (husband)
Her parents wanted her and Michiru to be skilled, so they enrolled them in swimming, cello, and violin lessons. Saemi did not approve of the fact that Kimi was into basketball but because her husband permitted her to play the sport, she did not openly state her distaste for it. She continued to live with her parents while Michiru moved out because she felt her parents would be lonely if they chose to move out plus she didn’t feel there was a need to move out.
In their previous life and in their current life, Kimi is dedicated to her mission and to acting in a way that serves her beloved younger sister. They both share similar interests: playing violin and cello, swimming. She strongly dislikes the idea of anyone using her to get Michiru’s pictures, autographs, and or free tickets to Michiru’s concerts. She would tell others that if they were true fans, they would get their own Michiru merchandise or their own ticket. However, her devotion to her sister makes her hesitant when it comes to acting on her own desires.
:Friends:
Satoshi “Ash” Ketchum aka Neptunus Knight
In their previous life Halimede acted as a stern older sister to Ash. She would pinch Asphaleios’s ear, tell him that they would be going home, and head back to Triton before she would teleport back to Halimede. She would also scold him for traveling the taboo planet because humans were extremely greedy, envious of those with power, and power hungry which made them dangerous. Asphaleios would try to protest only to get his ear pinched again. Halimede eventually gave in because she knew Asphaleios was too stubborn although she was partly grateful to experience the environment of Earth. Asphaleios pestered her to give a proper explanation to her first love, a human noble, as to why she no longer came to Earth, and she asked him to give a letter to Fortunato. As she laid dying, she thanked him for being mischievous enough to allow her an excuse to go to planet Earth and she hoped that perhaps in the next life, they can live on Earth. Despite her sternness with Asphaleios and Ash, she truly does love him as a sister. Asphaleios and Ash loves her cello playing. Ash sees Kimi as an elder sister figure while Kimi sees him as a little brother figure. Ash tries to support her during the games of Shūtoku’s girls’ basketball team by being part of the audience and cheering her on. They both work together as their alter egos.

Shintarō Midorima
One night, Kimi was heading out of the music room where she was practicing playing her cello and saw that the lights in the gymnasium were still on. She pressed her back to the wall of the gymnasium as best as she could while holding her cello case while she peered in with a suspicious expression. Her blue eyes widened as she witnessed long-range three pointers with incredible accuracy plus the shooter was a human noble she had met in her previous life, Fortunato. She then realized Bátrakhos had reincarnated into one of the Generation of Miracles, Shintarō Midorima.
When Sailor Halimede was in the middle of dragging her half-brother, Asphaleios away from Earth, she crossed paths with Fortunato who was visiting the Far East and he realized that she was a Sailor Guardian. Their first meeting had gone badly but due to Asphaleios’s stubbornness, they ended up crossing paths a few more times. Fortunato was Halimede’s first love, and he did have feelings for her however, much to his silent disappointment, Sophia stopped coming after Asphaleios and Asphaleios delivered a letter from Sophia explaining why she decided to stop coming after Asphaleios after her younger brother pestered her to properly explain to Fortunato why she no longer came to Earth. Despite his anger and their mutual regrets, they eventually moved onto new lovers.
However, Kimi couldn’t help but continue to observe Shintarō from afar when she had spare time. She found herself falling for him all over again. Thanks to trying to get to know Chantelle better, she ended up spending time with him on the rooftop. (Thanks to @ervaurem for chatting with me which inspired this segment.) He eventually trusted her to tell her about the fact that he was born with extremely bad luck, and he wanted to know what his past incarnation did to reap such bad luck. She did him a huge favor by using her mirror to divine that reason and she made him swear to secrecy. However, she started distancing herself away from him because her duty as a Sailor Guardian was to protect her princess and younger sister first and foremost and she didn’t want him to get involved with her and get in danger. Shintarō eventually confronted her to ask if he had done anything wrong for her to stop spending time with him and the others on the rooftop. Despite confessing her feelings to him, she explained that she didn’t want him to get hurt for getting closely involved with her, which was why she distanced herself from him. He sadly understood that they couldn’t be together but asked her and her elder twin to come back to eat lunch with him and their friends on the rooftop.
Kimi agreed, which allowed them to remain friends. After the Rakuzan match, she comforted Shintarō as best as she could and advised him. As she had seen Kazunari by Shintarō’s side when he was practicing alone, how he worked hard for Shintarō to notice him, and how he catered to Shintarō’s whims, she left her first love in his hands by telling him to take care of Shintarō. She and Shintarō stayed good friends.
Donghae Choi aka Nereus Knight
Their past incarnations met during a royal ball hosted by Neptune’s royal family. They danced with one another and for him, it was love at first sight. She didn’t fall in love with him until they danced, talked, walked through the gardens, then kissed during Princess Serenity’s and Princess Tranquility’s 14th birthday ball. In their current incarnations, they were childhood friends as their families both owned maritime trading companies and their fathers were business partners. It was through their father’s collaboration that the two of them were introduced to one another when he was 6 and she was 5 years old. Donghae had loved Kimi at first sight for her elegant demeanor but when he confessed to her in fourth grade, she didn’t feel the same at the time but acknowledged his feelings by telling him that she appreciated them. He still loved her even as they matured into teenagers. When he was 15 and she was 14, they both awakened as their alter egos. When she started high school, he unfortunately had to move away to Seoul, Korea, after the death of his parents but he still did his best to keep in touch with her by doing video calls and through social media. It took him a while, but she finally loved him in return because he was always there for her. She then told him that she had a princess to protect and in the worst-case scenario if they were both in danger, she would prioritize her princess’ safety over his and could he accept that? He said that he would without hesitating. After Kimi ran to him and told him that she loved him and that in their past lives, they were lovers but due to her destiny of needing to resolve lingering feelings for another former lover, she couldn’t commit to him until now. They kissed and started dating afterwards after meeting their families. Kimi eventually showed him glimpses of their past life together using her mirror. They eventually got married.
Her type of person is someone who isn’t afraid to be themselves.

:Past Life:
In her past life, she was Princess Halimede, the daughter of Poseidon and Amphitrite, the younger sister of Crown Prince Triton, and the elder sister of Princess Neptune. Her alter ego was Sailor Halimede, and she was bound to her post on Halimede but using the Crown Sea Mirror, she could use it to watch her loved ones from afar. Using the mirror, she found that her younger half-brother, Asphaleios, had flown down to Earth on his Pegasus, Ambrose, and while she had confronted her leader, Marina aka Sailor Triton, about allowing her son to go to the forbidden planet, Earth, using her mirror, Marina aka Sailor Triton was rather lax about it saying that Earth wasn’t explicitly forbidden to Neptunians whereas Saturn and Nemesis were taboo planets and that she couldn’t stop her son from pursuing his wanderlust and curiosity towards the planet. While Sailor Triton had a good point, Sailor Halimede didn’t think it was wise to encourage her younger brother to visit the planet since humans were extremely greedy, envious of those with power, and power hungry. While Sailor Triton wanted to encourage her son’s independence, Sailor Halimede didn’t think it was right and as she continued to watch over him from the mirror, she found that she was unable to stand watching Asphaleios’s continued recklessness although deep inside, a part of her had fallen in love with the sight of Earth, she left her post on Halimede for the first time to teleport to Asphaleios’s location using her mirror and take him away. However, Asphaleios was stubborn and continued to go to Earth. A few more times Halimede decided to intervene before giving up altogether as she understood that Asphaleios’s love for the human girl was intense, her younger brother was too persistent, and she couldn’t bring herself to leave her post even for the briefest of moments anymore except for one night where Queen Serenity invited all the Sailor Guardians of the Solar System except for those of Earth, Saturn and its moons to Princess Serenity’s and Princess Tranquility’s 14th birthday ball. She met her end on Neptune, fighting Queen Metaria while her younger sister was bound to her post and her parents evacuated to Earth for their safety.
:Allies/Team Mates:
The Neptunian Moon Sailor Guardians
Since Poseidon was an amorous god, it resulted in Sailor Naiad and Sailor Hippocamp being Princess Neptune's and Sailor Halimede's half-sisters, but it has allowed them to have a sisterly bond even in modern days.
Because she is a daughter of Poseidon, is good at advising, and possesses the Sea Crown Mirror, she was made the second in command of the Neptunian Moon Sailor Guardians.
Kairi Mizuno aka Sailor Naiad
In their previous lives, they were half siblings as they shared Poseidon as a father. They both share a role as Neptunian Moon Sailor Guardians and are Sailor Neptune’s Sailor Guardians. They were both Princess Neptune’s elder sisters. Kairi is whom Kimi would consider to be a true fan of Michiru. After learning that Kairi had to crossdress in the past, Kimi was surprised but noted that she was able to adapt her true feminine nature that she had in her past life rather easily and recalls Kairi from her past life. She thinks it’s rather sweet that Kairi admired Michiru to the point that she used Michiru’s image to inspire her towards acting in a more feminine manner. Both are members of the Kasamatsu Secret Fan Club, so Kimi was surprised to learn that Kairi was Yukio Kasamatsu’s childhood friend. Kimi mentioned once that she could’ve gone to Kaijō with Kairi but decided to go to Shūtoku High to be near Michiru aside from a deeper calling. Despite being from rival teams, they get along rather well because as Kimi noted, they were sisters in a previous life and Kairi also sees Kimi as an elder sister figure. Kairi enjoys Kimi’s cello playing. They both work together in their alter egos.
Chantelle Aomi aka Sailor Sao
In their previous lives, they met during the initiation ceremony as Princess Neptune’s guardian Sailor Guardians. Chantelle joined the Shūtoku High girls’ basketball team in fall and Kimi took the initiative to hang around her more since she was socially awkward, and Kimi wanted to get to know the new shooting guard better. Kimi spoke to her in French at times to make her feel comfortable. Chantelle told Kimi to meet up with her at the rooftop at lunch. Kimi asked her did she like to eat up at the rooftop during lunch and Chantelle explained that her male friend preferred it that way. She then spent her lunchtime with Yumi, Chantelle, Shintarō Midorima, and Kazunari Takao. They share similar interests such as basketball, swimming, art specifically painting, and music. They started hanging outside of basketball and would do things together such as draw-alongs and Kimi would play the cello while Chantelle sang. Chantelle had a bit of a crush on her vice-captain and the feeling was mutual, but Kimi is not the one Chantelle was meant to be with. They stayed good friends, teammates, and were each other’s bridesmaids at their weddings.
Umiko Kaisei aka Sailor Thalassa
In their previous lives, they grew up alongside one another since they were both Princess Neptune's guardian Sailor Guardians and Thalassa's father was the castellan of Neptune Castle, and she was expected to follow in her father’s footsteps to be the châtelaine of Triton Castle. Sensing the resentment from Thalassa for being bound to her little sister, they initially disliked each other a lot but as Thalassa got to know her sister better and her resentment turned into devotion, they eventually became good friends since they had similar dispositions. During a practice game with Kaijō High, Umiko Kaisei recruited her to become a member of the Kasamatsu Secret Fan Club. When Umiko was going over the rules, Kimi joked about not being able to flirt with Yukio Kasamatsu much to Umiko’s chagrin. Whereas they had cold bitter remarks exchanged in their previous lives growing up, they cheekily make verbal jabs at one another when the opportunity presents itself.

:Henshin Sequence:
The symbol of Halimede shines on the Gloss Rod, she tilts the Gloss Rod to the right with her grass green manicured hand, she spins the Gloss Rod around her, and holds her hands in fists as her arms are bent while her bare body is shining in pale grass green light while an ocean wave surrounds her from a ring on the ground and she reemerges fully transformed. :Sailor Forms:

:Attacks:
Halimede Tiara Pressure!
Sailor Halimede points to the gem in her tiara which shoots a blast of seawater charged with magical energy.
Crowning Reflection!
Sailor Halimede holds the back of the Crown Sea Mirror before flipping it over, revealing an energy ball that shoots forward, turning into a high-pressure blast of seawater. This can also be used to reveal an enemy’s weakness so that when Sailor Halimede flips over the Crown Sea Mirror, instead of an energy ball being formed over its reflective surface, the reflective surface creates a bright beam that shines on the enemy to reveal their weakness.
Rich Counsel!
(Achieved in her Eternal form.) Sailor Halimede raises her Crown Sea Mirror, and a large energy ball made of seawater is formed above it then it moves forward and explodes when it makes contact with the target.

:Inspirations:
The meaning of the name "Halimede" meaning "rich-crowned" led her to become a sibling original character because only princesses wear crowns~. Halimede is a type of crab so it led to her spirit animal being the orange Halimede crab. Her braids were inspired by Yuzuki from Chobits, when she transforms as a Sailor Guardian, her braids go down to her thighs like Yuzuki. She is also somewhat inspired by Hagi from Blood+ in the fact that she plays cello and ties her hair using a blue ribbon. Her civilian earrings are inspired by the fact the image of Michiru in the fourth artbook linked above are big pearls. Her senshi choker pendant was inspired by Vivienne Westwood jewelry. Sailor Halimede’s earrings are also inspired by Vivienne Westwood earrings, Miss Rain’s earrings, and Sailor Neptune’s Crystal earrings. Her physical design is based off Rina Toin from Mermaid Melody but with Rina's seaweed green hair in her human form but retaining her deep blue eyes as I had intended Rina Toin to be Sailor Despina's face claim and originally revised Sailor Halimede to be Sailor Despina's fraternal twin before Sailor Despina got axed out of Senshi no Basuke.
