Here are some songs that inspire me and the soundtrack that is used in Senshi no Basuke or Solar System Celestial Knights.
Sailor Moon Crystal Opening 1
Sailor Moon Crystal s1-s2 has influenced my current art style. I love Yukie Sakou's art. It's because of this reboot that I've become a big senshi x shitennou fan. Although it's not a perfect adaptation of the manga, I still love it.
Kuroko's Basketball - Opening 4 | Hengen Jizai no Magical Star
I love GranRodeo's osts for Kuroko's Basketball. Sailor Moon advises us girls to fall in love because a flower's life is fleetingly beautiful while Kishow in this song advises boys to do their best in love and encourages girls to show a little vulnerability. I really love how each team is highlighted in this opening. I hope to draw each of the girls' teams in similar poses to how the teams here have been shown one day.
Glamorous Sky by Mika Nakashima
For Senshi no Basuke, a world that falls under both magical girl and sports categories, the openings must have rock in it to get you moving. This is my favorite song from the NANA movie and I can imagine this song as one of its openings. These are the lyrics. This would fit for a flashback arc for when Allette Shiratori aka Sailor Leda has to think back to the days she attended L’Academie pour les filles royale des Jardins (Royal Garden Girls' Academy) with her fellow Princesses of Basketball.
NƠI MÌNH DỪNG CHÂN - MỸ TÂM (OST "CHỊ TRỢ LÝ CỦA ANH")
I'm a big fan of Mỹ Tâm and I think Allette would be too. Allette must hurt Youta's feelings and break up with him to prevent him from getting harmed by her mother and this song would play as this happens as it portrays her feelings. This is the ost of the Vietnamese movie, My Dear Assitant (2019). These are the lyrics.
Gosick Ending Japanese + English Lyrics + Romaji
Since Allette Shiratori was inspired by Victorique de Blois from Gosick with her character design and characteristics, I suppose it's only natural that some of the Gosick ost would come into my head. I imagine this song would be playing during Allette's final game at the Winter Cup so perhaps this song could double as an ending song for Senshi no Basuke.
Yoari - True (Lyrics)
The opening of the Kdrama, My Demon, would be the opening for the finale of the Winter Cup and Allette's kidnapping arc. It talks about Allette's feelings leading up to the kidnapping; how she doesn't want to lose her lover, how she must accept her fate of losing her freedom to her mother but at the same time doesn't want to lose her freedom, how she usually is able to find a way out of a situation but when it comes to her mother, she is helpless, and how she wants to share her true feelings to the people she cares for and admires before being taken away by her mother.
Various Artists - I Am Woodalchi (String Ver.) [Faith OST]
The Outer Senshi has the same transformation theme, and this would be the unifying transformation theme for the Outer Solar System Celestial Knights. "Woodalchi" means "Royal Guard" in Korean, and the Solar System Celestial Knights also serve as imperial knights. The song sounds epic, which is fitting given that guardians from the Outer planets tend to be stronger and is a good way to show the boys' connection as a new unit in this lifetime.
Move & Run - 오준성 Oh Joon Sung (신의 OST / Faith OST)
Another Ost from the Kdrama, Faith but used for action purposes. I originally intended it to be Sailor Charon's action theme, but it would've been weird for a male chorus to go "hey" "ho" as she called out her attacks. Still, I wanted to use the attack theme so thanks to my cousin who listened to it and said it sounded like action music for the season finale, I decided this song would be playing during the first finale of Solar System Celestial Knights as the boys fought hand-to-hand combat.
Hikari 光 (Simple and Clean) Orchestral Instrumental Version
This was intended to be Sailor Naiad's transformation theme as Sailor Naiad was inspired by the Kingdom Hearts characters, Kairi and Aqua, in her conception but then I decided it would be a unifying transformation theme for all the Neptunian Moon Senshi plus the orchestra playing is fitting for a planet whose zodiac sign is associated with musical talents.
Utada Hikaru & Skrillex - Face My Fears (Japanese)
This song definitely describes Kairi aka Sailor Naiad's feelings as she finally gets to live as a girl after being forced to cross-dress for most of her life aside from me alluding to the Kingdom Hearts reference in Kairi's conception with using another Kingdom Hearts song. Here are the lyrics.
Simple And Clean (Planitb Remix) Instrumental [Made by DJ Shitposter]
I decided to use another version of Simple and Clean as a unifying transformation theme but for the Uranian Moon Senshi since Ouranos Knight is named after a character in Kingdom Hearts and since Neptune and Uranus are considered to be twin planets, it made sense to me to use a similar song but a different version of it. The breathing, vocals, and epicness of it seems fitting for them.
[INSTRUMENTAL] XIA 준수 - Flower(꽃)
This is the final unifying transformation theme for the Saturnian Moon Senshi. This is a song that inspires me so I thought it would work as a transformation song. My coauthor cousin said it gives her forbidden and action vibes. The lyrics do somewhat fit as well since it mentions death and resurrection which Sailor Saturn represents.
