Personality
Despite being the second youngest, Shion is mature and responsible. She will take it on herself to mediate situations between her brothers. Her mother has given Shion the privilege of enforcing consequences on her brothers and Shion won’t hesitate to do so. She has surprisingly quick reflexes despite her build. She has girly interests which includes dolls and fashion. She is considerate as she thinks of others and will not hesitate to shield others with her large body.
She is decisive and protective and has trouble with not being too harsh.

Background
Shion is the fourth child of Kōta and Shiori Murasakibara. Both her parents were unusually tall and all the Murasakibara children inherited their parents’ heights.They inherited their father’s violet hued hair and their mother’s violet eyes. Shion received a similar name to her mother. Her younger brother, Atsushi, and childhood friend, Shion Fuyumi, was invited to play basketball by fellow kids on the street and they were both subsequently enrolled in Mini-Basketball. Although Shion had no interest in sports, as she knew if she went all out, equipment would get toppled and people would get hurt but she liked watching her younger brother and childhood friend who was younger than her by two years with the same name play basketball. As a child, she loved playing with dolls and even as she grew up, she kept her doll collection and made doll clothes for them. It was harder to dress up as she grew up, so she wanted to become a fashion designer catering to people of all sizes. She was always the mediator of fights between her brothers hence her mother gave her the privilege to dole out consequences when she became a teenager.
Prior to graduating from Shūtoku High, Atsushi decided to attend Yōsen High for high school so she had to apply for Akita University to be with her family.

Shion inherited a similar name to her mother, a tall stature from her parents, and all Murasakibara children inherited their father's violet hued hair and their mother’s violet eyes. Her father is usually off at work so Shion helps her mother around the house. Thanks to Shion’s close relationship with her mother, Shiori, she had girly interests as her mother bought her dolls and dresses to dress up with. Despite having three older brothers, Shion just didn’t share the same interests as they did but she liked watching her childhood friend who was two years younger named Shion Fuyumi and younger brother, Atsushi, play basketball and came out to watch his games when she could as she didn’t want to draw attention to herself for her stature nor cause Atsushi to be embarrassed that she was watching. Atsushi refers to her as “Nee-chan” and she is one of the few people who could stop him from threatening others because she will threaten him with taking his allowance away. Shion understands her younger brother well and tries to get him to understand people’s perspectives, but it usually ends in threatening him for being rude to her.

When the girls first introduced themselves to one another, they and their families were surprised that they had the same name, but their mothers talked about the meanings of their respective names which helped them differentiate by kanji. Shion would often come over to the Murasakibara household to play on the weekends while her mother worked. Sometimes, she would eat lunch together with the Murasakibara family and take naps with Shion Murasakibara and her brothers. The two of them would play dolls, dress up, and watch magical girl anime together. When she played with Shion’s brothers, she was the cop, and they were the robbers. Shion Murasakibara’s younger brother, Atsushi nicknamed her “Shio-chin”. When she and Atsushi Murasakibara were invited to play basketball by kids on the street, she had lots of fun and both she and Atsushi were enrolled in the same Mini-Basketball program. Shion Murasakibara was there when their parents picked them up from Mini-Basketball so she could spend time with her best friend. However, when Shion Murasakibara was 17, she was 15, and Atsushi was 14, Shion Fuyumi had to move to Yokohama shortly after her father’s funeral. Shion Fuyumi begged Shion Murasakibara not to forget about her and she promised her she wouldn’t. They had each other’s contact information, but they lost touch for a while as Shion Fuyumi tried to cope with her recent life changes, but Shion Murasakibara did eventually initiate contact with her, and they started making their friendship long-distance. When the Satellite Sailor Guardians fought against the Saturnian Moon Sailor Guardians as Pharaoh 90 was covering the Earth, she realized Sailor Titan was her friend. Sailor Larissa clenched her fists and closed her eyes after taking a step forward and froze as she knew aiding her friend would be treason to her princess and her teammates. Shion Murasakibara later forgave her though as she understood her circumstances.

(The visit to Saturn was inspired by @shadowsphere21’s writing.) Hetaireios, son of Zeus and Hera aka Zeus Knight was part of the emissary group visiting Saturn as the taboo planet was still part of the Solar System and its alliance. Astraea aka Sailor Titan was called from her post on Saturn’s moon, Titan, to help receive the emissary group. Astraea found Hetaireios taking notes on the planet, Saturn, and as they exchanged information on their home planets and interacted with one another, they soon fell in love. Before the emissary group left, Hetaireios made sure to kiss Astraea on the lips in secret before departing. In modern days, they encountered each other in Starpucks when Shion returned to Tokyo in the summer to prepare for Sailor Saturn’s awakening. They talked to each other in Starpucks, exchanged contact information, and later discovered their alter egos, and cooperated with one another when possible and Takamori eventually recalled his past life including the first time he met her.
