Satoshi "Ash" Ketchum aka Neptunus Knight

In their previous lives, Marina bore Poseidon a son, Asphaleios. She named him after one of Poseidon's epithets meaning "Safety". Marina’s midwife was a Mercurian named Talia, Delia’s past incarnation who became Asphaleios’s godmother. Talia took Asphaleios to live with her on Mercury for a period as Marina wanted her son to learn and experience different things and she was bound to her post on Triton. However, the period he lived on Mercury was not for very long because while he enjoyed being close to the sunlight and the Mercurian races, he detested studying which Mercurians valued and he missed his mother and thought she was lonely. His dream was to become a master warrior as his half-sisters and mother were Sailor Guardians and his maternal grandfather was a Neptunian soldier. While Sailor Halimede had confronted her about allowing her son to go to the forbidden planet, Earth, using her mirror, Marina aka Sailor Triton was rather lax about it saying that Earth wasn’t explicitly forbidden to Neptunians whereas Saturn and Nemesis were taboo planets and that she couldn’t stop her son from pursuing his wanderlust and curiosity towards the planet. She also drilled him about the art of dancing. In their current lives, Ash was awestruck at how beautiful Yue was when he first saw him. Both Sailor Triton and Neptunis Knight wield tridents allowing them to collaborate while attacking and they do joint introductions while confronting the enemy. They have a mother-son relationship although Yue has no intention of replacing Ash's current mother and takes Ash out to eat at fancy restaurants when possible.

Love Interests

Poseidon

In her past life, Poseidon pursued the leader of his daughter's guardians as she was an extremely beautiful woman. He was rather charming to Marina aka Sailor Triton and soothed her loneliness. Poseidon made sure to get her a Mercurian midwife knowing that Mercurians were skilled in medicine. She bore him a son which she named after his epithet "Asphaleios" which meant safety as she felt safe with Poseidon and hoped their son could protect others as well. Fortunately, Marina was aware that he was amorous so even though she deeply loved him, she wasn’t heartbroken when Poseidon had a new affair.

Allies and Teammates

The Neptunian Moon Guardians

She is the eldest and has the most attacks of the Neptunian Moon Guardians given that her weapon, the Mighty Sea Trident can split into two other weapons.

Kimi Kaiou aka Sailor Halimede

In their past lives, Sailor Halimede used her Sea Crown Mirror to show Sailor Triton that her son was sneaking off to Earth, but Sailor Triton was lax about it, saying that Earth wasn't explicitly forbidden to Neptunians unlike the taboo planets of Saturn and Nemesis and that she couldn't stop her son's wanderlust for Earth. In the chain of command, Sailor Halimede is second to Sailor Triton and they both consult with one another in battle.

Aimi Umino aka Sailor Laomedeia

In their past lives, Marina was aware that Laomedeia was romantically interested in her son and actively pursuing him. She knew that Laomedeia was the daughter of a duke so her upbringing and intent didn't concern her, she was more concerned whether her son felt the same for her and when they talked about his feelings towards the girl, it was clear that he was smitten with her so she didn't really feel a need to get involved other than to let them continue their romance. In their currents lives, she warned Ash that if he was the one to break her heart, she'd give him a beating but if Aimi was the one to break his heart, then she wouldn't get off easy and she glared which intimidated Aimi.

Inspirations

Since she is the character, Mi Yue, from the mobile game, Call Me Emperor, she was definitely based on Mi Yue from the Chinese drama, The Legend of Mi Yue, based on the historical Queen Dowager Xuan of Qin and of course, I made headcanons on her given her portrayal in the game. I interpreted her spirit animal in the game is Peng, a mythological giant fish that turns into a giant bird known as the Kun so I wanted to include the music from the movie, Big Fish and Begonia into her soundtrack aside from The Legend of Mi Yue. Her Gallant Girl skin which is the image of her in the blue and white warrior outfit and her Enchanted Moonlight skin inspired her fuku. Her earrings from her first warrior outfit inspired the earrings she wears as Sailor Triton. Her fan and sword in the game inspired the design of her Mighty Sea Trident. The mythological Triton also inspired her Sailor Guardian title and her Triton Rising attack. I was worried about Sailor Thalassa being the only Neptunian Moon Sailor Guardian whose gloss colors her lips but since her first warrior image has her with coral colored lips, I gave her coral gloss in her transformation.
