Of Expies and Face Claims

As crossover obsessed as I am, some crossovers just aren't meant to work... Sailor Moon has ruined me permanently for magical girls. I am heavily biased for it. That's why sometimes when an anime is really dear to me but I just can't incorporate a crossover for it, I rely on using another anime character's face from it or I just happen to like their character design when my brain is unable to think of a design! But of course, I sometimes tweak the character design as mentioned in the About Me. If they share a lot of characteristics with the character they got their face from then, I guess I'll admit they're an expy.

Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch is a magical girl anime that's dear to my heart due to growing up with it but the Mermaid Princesses would not last in a real fight.

Ironically, while I was watching Smile Precure! ( my motivation to watch it was the fact that the blond magical girl's surnames is Kise which is the same surname as a blond in Kuroko's Basketball. ) I was just really fond of Reika Aomi's and Nao Midorikawa's character designs for their civilian forms for Chantelle Aomi aka Sailor Sao and Mika Midorima aka Sailor Orthosie. And this opinion may get me hated by some Precure fans but when I saw the Princess Candle, the show seemed like a rip off of Sailor Moon in some areas ( but to be fair, most magical girl shows are inspired by the legendary Sailor Moon ) and seemed juvenile...

Ironically, I used the character designs of the green and blue magical girls of both shows and I solemnly swear I will not do it for any other future fan senshi here again. Kimi Kaiou aka Sailor Halimede's revamped character design intentionally resembles Rina Toin from Mermaid Melody while Aimi Umino aka Sailor Laomedeia ended up becoming Hanon Hosho's expy. What can I say, Hanon is such an enjoyable character haha.

Since Allette Shiratori aka Sailor Leda is inspired by Victorique de Blois from Gosick, she's by default, a Shana expy and I guess she's Victorique's expy...

Tomiko Mikan aka Sailor Orthosie's character design is inspired by Yui Yuigahama from Oregairu. ( I haven't watched that anime and I don't plan to. )

Inspirations behind the Transformation Sequences of the Jovian Moon Senshi and the Solar System Celestial Knights

For the Jovian Moon Senshi, you'll notice that they all use lipgloss with rose petals and have rose petals brush against their lips even though they're not all 16 and older. This is because Saya aka Sailor Dia was intended to be my interpretation of Saya for the Blood anime franchise. In the Blood+ opening, Colors of the Heart, and the Blood-C opening, both Saya's are nude and have blood peeling off of them and have notably red lips and I wanted to reference those visuals somehow and made it so that the Jovian Moon Senshi's transformation items were lip gloss (somewhat similar to how Sailor Moon's transformation item in the live action Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon was lipstick) but with rose petals which was why the rose petals brush off their lips. Unfortunately, I realized it would probably be way too far-fetched to crossover Sailor Moon with my original take of the Blood anime franchise. You'll still see some crossovers / references to Blood+ and Blood-C in my multicrossover alternate dimension featuring the stories Senshi no Basuke and Solar System Celestial Knights though!

As for the Solar System Celestial Knights, the reason why there are curtains in their transformation sequence is because I had childhood guy friends who I got into Sailor Moon and they dreamt I was Sailor Moon and they were male guardians and our transformation sequence had curtains in it. Our mutual friend said they were probably lying but the visuals of the curtain and their dream still inspired me!

A Message of Support to all Fellow Fan Senshi Creators

Hello all,

As a fan senshi creator who's just trying to do her best to make more content and develop her own fanmade world for her own fan senshi. I am blessed that I am not that well known on the internet because while the internet gives us the blessing to get to know incredible people who share the same interests as we do and befriend them, it also brings its share of troubles in that there are people who will seek to tear you down at any flaw in your creation just because they decided they had to say something about it instead of checking out other works that please them better.

I am incensed at anyone who thinks that they are critiquing others when they are actually just pointing out flaws in a harsh way without addressing any strengths. It is possible to critique others while sounding nice about it! Address what you think they did well as well as what they need to improve on. If people didn't ask you for your criticism, then go on your way, find something else to do that is a productive use of your time please. (If anyone is curious, no unwanted rudeness was directed towards my fan creations!)

I would also like to thank my website manager aelloblu for all she does for helping other fan senshi creators, helping me with developing this website, and guiding me along the way with her helpful criticism. As for fellow fan senshi creators who have had unwanted criticism directed at them, I want to encourage you all to please keep creating. We are not experts, our creations are not our occupations, we are just fan creators who wanna have fun and hopefully improve our art, our writing along the way. Please ignore the unhelpful people who can't find it in themselves to be quiet just because they didn't like our work, because we didn't make something that didn't cater to their tastes. Please keep creating as long as you still love what you're doing, even if it is motivated towards spite towards the naysayers. Just keep creating as long as it is something that makes you happy.

I lost motivation to art for the Lolirock fandom because teenagers were constantly reposting my art without permission and their likes, comments were not brought towards my way. Sailor Moon is a very special fandom for me, and I've learned the harder you love a story, the harder it is to get any one person to change your perception of it. So, keep creating even if it is just for yourself. Block the naysayers and keep moving!
